Thierry Barbé is principal bass in the Paris Opera Orchestra, teacher in the National Paris Superior Conservatory of music, (CNSMP).
He was born in METZ (Lorraine-France), a town situated in the center of Europe. After having followed a scientific cursus at college, he then look to piano and double-bass and afterwards decided to come to Paris. With the aim of studying music in its essence, wich he did for 5 years at National Superior Conservatory of music (CNSMP), he was succesful in obtaining first prize in musical analysis, a first accessit in harmony-conterpoint, diplom of music history and esthetic, and firt prize double-bass.
He studyed electro-accoustic music also, orchestral direction, being employed in the same time in the Paris Opera Orchestra in wich he is actually soloist.
